Will it be called OnlyTwits? Twitter's 'Super Follows' fills paid content niche users did not know existed

Twitter has launched a new Super Follows feature that allows users to charge “subscriber only” content fees. Only followers who pay up to $ 9.99 a month will have the privilege of seeing these new, OnlyFans-like privileged posts.

The Super Follows feature was rolled out on Wednesday and is clearly set to become a big part of Twitter when its first tweets were sent under its very own username (@SuperFollows, of course). The feature is currently only available for iOS for US and Canadian users who requested the option to try it out in February, and boasts that it is a “Paid monthly subscription that supports your favorite people on Twitter” while unlocking followers “Super tweets."

However, all is not lost for those who would strive to become Super followers. Twitter pointed thirsty users at one series of steps in the thread after its announcement. The account also retweeted the intro posts from the first crop of Super Followers, no doubt the number of subscribers dropped (and its own revenue from the revenue each subscriber brought in).

Rumors of a split, Super Follows-type subscription service have been hovering around for months, making it even more confusing with the rollout of a similar-sounding payment service called Twitter Blue, which sneakily popped up in the Store in May. While Twitter Blue, like the lowest level of Super Follows, costs $ 2.99, its features (including one “Undo tweet” button and custom p icons) is less about interacting with other users and more about customizing the individual Twitter experience.
