The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) was publicly condemned on Thursday after arguing that mandatory Covid-19 vaccination actually promotes civil rights instead of compromising them.

In a Article for - as the ACLU posted on its official Twitter account - the ACLU’s national legal director David Cole and colleague Daniel Mach defended vaccine mandates by claiming that the right to bodily autonomy is violated when others are exposed to danger.

Far from compromising with them, mandates actually vaccinate additional civil liberties. They protect the most vulnerable, people with disabilities and fragile immune systems, children too young to be vaccinated and color communities hard hit by the disease. https://t.co/UYfQY2EEqj

“Do vaccination mandates violate civil rights? Some who have rejected vaccination claim just as much. We disagree, “ declared the couple, revealing that the ACLU is watching “No civil rights issue with requiring Covid-19 vaccines in most cases."

“In fact, far from compromising citizens' rights, vaccination mandates actually provide additional civil rights," they continued, arguing that mandatory vaccination protects “The most vulnerable among us” including the disabled, children and “Color community."

The article justified the obligatory jabs and argued that the right to bodily autonomy is not “Absolutely” and says in some cases the intrusion is justified.

Vaccines are a justified intrusion into autonomy and bodily integrity. It may sound ominous because we all have the fundamental right to bodily integrity and to make our own health decisions. But these rights are not absolute. They do not include the right to harm others.

Cole and Mach even went so far as to claim that “Real threat to civil rights” are states that ban vaccination mandates and defend the right to bodily autonomy.

“Avoiding a deadly threat to public health typically outweighs personal autonomy and individual freedom," Cole and Mach stated, concluding, “We are deeply concerned about civil rights and civil rights for all - and that is precisely why we support vaccination mandates."

The ACLU received strong backlash on social media, with critics accusing the organization of having “Lost the plot."

People overuse the term “Orwellian”, but this is a textbook.

There are color communities that do not trust the medical establishment, but you would insist that they are also mandated? Civil rights org, my foot.

“Never donate again. You must support individual freedom, ” replied a fully vaccinated user, while RedState Deputy Editor-in-Chief Brandon Morse question, Who are they trying to convince with this tweet? Us or themselves? ”

“Forcing the state to force citizens to inject their bodies with a medicine they do not want is actually a victory for citizens' rights,” @ACLU said. cheated journalist Glenn Greenwald, who added that although he loves that he and his family were vaccinated, it is “Because it was my choice and theirs, after informing ourselves," and not the government’s decision.
