Owner of Florida diner BANS Biden supporters from her restaurant referring to deaths of US troops in Afghanistan
A Florida business owner has made waves after telling supporters of Joe Biden to take their business elsewhere, citing the president’s handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Angie Ugarte, owner of DeBary Diner at DeBary, caused controversy in the Florida community and local media after putting up a sign at the restaurant with the message to those who still support Biden. The poster accuses the administration of being “Accomplice” in the deaths of 13 U.S. service members killed in a suicide bombing at Kabul airport along with dozens of civilians, some of whom reportedly died in the ensuing firefight. ISIS-K took responsibility for the bombing. The attack took place during the chaotic evacuation that took place on Tuesday, in which many civilians and allies were left behind.
The Biden administration has been heavily criticized for its handling of the Afghan evacuation and for its tone-deaf reaction to the Kabul airport tragedy, in which White House press secretary Jen Psaki literally said the mass crash “Does not take the place of all progress, all the work that has been done to evacuate people," and Biden calls the operation one “Extraordinary success."
The business owner in Florida drew no punches while assessing the administration’s “success” in Afghanistan.
“If you have voted for and continue to support and stand behind the worthless, unsuitable and corrupt administration that currently inhabits the White House, which is complicit in the deaths of our officials and women in Afghanistan, take your business elsewhere, “ Ugarte’s sign reads.
Ugarte said she plans to keep the sign until every American is out of Afghanistan. She cited her heavy veteran customer base as part of why the controversy hit so close to home.
“I was just angry. I was just let down. I felt like one of those mothers or wives or sisters who was going to get that knock on the door, ” she told Fox 35, adding that she did not want to be “Associated” with someone still supporting the current administration.
Ugarte has received a mixed response about the sign, with some saying they love it, but lots of other potential customers have also turned away from the store after reading the message.
News of the sign received similarly mixed responses online, repeating controversies that other companies have earned when they ‘banned’ certain individuals from political affiliation.
Now I do not have an education in business, but I always thought it was bad for the bottom line to reject a large majority of potential customers? https://t.co/NvAJJ5O0RU

Liberals, however, were happy to blow the business over its position and promised not to give them business.
“I wish more companies would do this. Makes it a lot easier for me to know which companies to avoid! ” a Twitter user wrote in response to the ‘ban’.
“Crush for not being able to go to DeBary Diner," another added, sarcastic.
Despite strong criticism from both Democrats and Republicans - some of whom have called on Biden to resign or be indicted - the president on Tuesday called the Afghanistan withdrawal mission “Extraordinary success” the kind of “No nation has done in all of history."
