Half of Americans and a THIRD DEMMER believe Biden should resign after leaving Afghanistan, but many worry that Vice President Harris is no better
About 52% of likely U.S. voters believe President Joe Biden should end how he handled the withdrawal from Afghanistan, according to a study by Rasmussen. However, they are not ready to embrace Vice President Kamala Harris yet.
While the majority seems to want Biden to pay for his failures in Afghanistan, 39% of Rasmussen’s respondents believe he deserves another chance — or at least does not want him disposed of yet.
Perhs, however, was most surprising that nearly a third (32%) of Democrats agreed that Biden should retire after the crash, according to polls released Wednesday. Less surprisingly, 75% of Republicans felt the same way.
Meanwhile, 60% of voters agreed with South Carolina Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham’s statement that Biden’s decision to “abandon thousands of Afghans who fought with us” as well as “some American citizens“Was a criminal offense.
Biden was accused of messing around with troops, especially after 13 service members died in a suicide bombing at Kabul airport as the operation went into its final days. At least one member of the military has voiced and controversially stated that he has lost confidence in the commander-in-chief and demanded “accountability“And”management“From a government that, he believes, has not shown either.
Despite criticism of Biden, many were not thrilled with the prospect of Vice President Kamala Harris taking over the presidency.
The majority agreed on Wednesday that she was not suitable for the oval office, and 47% generally said that she is “not qualified at all"- a statement that a third of Democrats agreed with. The numbers continue a trend that has persisted over Biden’s presidency so far, with a poll last month that found that more than half of Americans believed that she made a “bad work.”
Last month, another survey by Rasmussen found that about 55% of voters said Harris was unqualified to become president, and that number has risen over the past few months. In ril, only 49% thought the former California state attorney was suitable for the presidency.
All of this is despite the Biden administration’s conscious efforts to put Harris at the center of public events and get her to take phone calls from foreign leaders, while the White House refers to itself as “Biden-Harris Administration“In a break from tradition.
As early as March, 47% of Americans believed that someone other than Biden made high-level decisions in the White House — even though that poll did not indicate whether they thought it was Harris.
Polling data for the latest Rasmussen survey were collected online and by telephone from 30-31. August.
Disgust at Biden’s withdrawal in Afghanistan has been twofold, with 74% of respondents to a CBS News poll on Tuesday stating that the withdrawal process had gone a lot or something bad. Others described Biden’s strategy as ineffective, incompetent and ungrateful to the Afghans who helped American forces during the war.
